actingadam any person knows that songs are left open for listener interpretation (even if there is a set meaning) any good band or songwriter would say that... and there was no possible way for anyone to know what it actually meant unless hearing it from the band yourself as you said they talked about it on a dvd.. hence the analysis |

Can anyone elaborate on the previous lyric? I get the high school part about how you need to go with the flow to be accepted, but i don't get the car salesman on tv or the guillotine part. Is it that he watched like his favorite sports stars go on to be on commercials etc.. Can someone please elaborate, i'd really appreciate it. Also sorry about that first post error. |

The title "XO" derives from the following lines: To the love I left my conscience pressed Through the keyhole I watched you dress Kiss and tell Loose lips sink ships The preceding lines are meant to be read as if it were a letter, I'm also assuming this song is very persoanl in nature and the events displayed actually happened to one or more of the members, possibly a number of times. Butthe XO is supposed to be ironic, it's something you'd write to your sweetheard (XO hugs and kisses), but instead uses it metaphorically to sign off his one night stand. |

Loose lips is referring to the telephone calls she is making to her friends to brag and can also be seen as loose lips, she'll kiss around or do anything to get what she wants. Besides the band's song meaning, it obviously doesn't match up with their music video. So here's some interpretation of that: Stalkerish: He stands outside of her window, just watching the girl he is in love with, even though he can't have her, he wants to keep a watchful eye on her at all times. The radio keeps him company. Famous: Maybe this girl didn't give JT the time of day, but now that he's famous, he's kind of rubbing it in her face by mentally saying: "hey, you didn't want me before, but check me and my band out now, we're on the radio, we're famous, you could of had me". JT saluting the radio up outside of her window is just like rubbing it in. |

i orignally thought this song was about some sort of breakup or separation, but this is what i'm thinking now... the their and they that is mentioned throughout the song is the girl's parents. the boy and girl are in love, but might be moving too fast for the parents to hand and he wants to make it last.. moving too fast in the instance of staying out late and such.. he mentions if only they were all alone, this could be to the parents of the girl, because the parents have had each other for a considerable amount of time i'm sssuming, but if only they were alone they could understand their situation... OR it could be to all the lovers out there, if only they were all alone they could understand separation. |

This song is about a man trying to bring his girlfriend back from the dead... for those of you who don't know, his girlfriend died, he makes a pact with the devil, and the devil tells the man to bring him the corpses of 1,000 evil men to resurrect his girlfriend. Now from what I understand of this song, he kills the 1,000 people and finally is able to see his girlfriend again. They love again, laugh again, and they dance together... but as they dance together, authorities arrive, because the man is wanted for 1,000 murders. The authorities fire two shots, striking each of them in the back of their head and they both die together... and to the man, it's better of that way. or The title kind of gives me another perspective, perhaps the man has started another relationship with another girl, just for the sake of adding another name to his 1,000. He never told her what he does for a living, so he intends on killing this girl. He tells her it isn't for money or fame, it's only for the bodies that he claims. And he could only go so far with this girl until it was time to bury her. Before he plans the muder of this girl, he spends one fine evening with her and dances, but unexpectedly, authorities arrive and just fire at anything that moves and ended up killing the two. The man then says it's better of this way, because he can finally see his girlfriend in the afterlife. |
