| I also agree with Deth. Accoording to the bandmembers themselves, the meaning of "Colitas" is a reference to weed (pot, dope, marijuana, whatever you want to call it). Another metaphor about the song is in the line "They stab it with their steely knives." It was reference to Steely Dan, with whom they had a friendly rivalry going at the time. There's a lot of cryptic and metaphoric lyrics to this song. The theory about it ONLY being about a cult is too obvious for such a creative and talented band to compose and lyricise. | |
