| Pearl Jam – Alive Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The meaning behind this song is messed up. I still love the song, though. | |
| Craig David – Rise And Fall Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| After listening to Sting's lyrics then reading these... Uhg. What a difference in level, just in the symbolism! The music is okay -- I like the addition of drums, but Craig David's music lacks the melancholy emotions present in Sting's version. Only very few revivals can out-do or even match up to the original. | |
| Delerium – Duende Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Just as reference, Duende means "dwarf" or "goblin" in Spanish. | |
| Līve – Deep Enough Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Lol, the song is awesome with the music, but if you just read the lyrics, it's sorta funny. | |
| Dollybraid – Broken Like An Angel Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| One of my all-time favorite songs. I'm glad to see it properly creditted! | |
| Crossfade – Broken Like An Angel Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
There are two Crossfades -- one is a Norweigan band, I think. They themselves have pretty good songs, but they aren't really hard rock like the US Crossfade. Gyah, this isn't a Crossfade song? Too bad -- I still like their other stuff though. :) Thanks for the clarification! |

| Josh Groban – To Where You Are Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
People aren't stupid, Shark Bait XXX. They have every reason to call Josh Groban romantic. He sings with SOUL. His songs, especially the sad ones, carry such FEELING because he puts in all that emotion and heart when singing those songs. Sure, there are plenty of other people who are excellent singers. But what makes people say Josh Groban is so romantic is that he carries that certain SOMETHING in his voice that few others very rarely possess. People like Kelly Clarkson and Celine Dion and Christina Aguilera have AMAZING voices, there is no doubt about that. But they rarely themselves get called romantic and nostalgic simply because their voices aren't usually suited for such romantic and nostalgic songs. Instead, we just listen and say "wow, they are very good singers." But Josh Groban's voice touches us so deeply and emotionally. Isn't that one of the greatest successes of a singer, to touch the hearts of people like that with their songs, even if they themselves didn't write it? I can guarantee that an ordinary singer with a good voice, even he had Josh Groban's staff behind him, couldn't achieve the depth that Josh Groban has carved in his songs. By the way, comparing Josh Groban with someone like Justin Timberlake is just ludicrous. Timberlake can't carry a note, first of all. Second, listen to a love ballad that Timberlake (tries to) sing(s) and compare that with Josh Groban. You, sir (or madam), have no basis for the comparison you've just made except for the fact that Timberlake and Groban don't write their own songs. We love Josh Groban not only for just his voice but for the feeling he puts into his songs. Sure, he doesn't write his own songs. But name someone who has a voice as clear and as, well, beautiful as Josh Groban's. Josh has found his medium in sad, romantic ballads and he sings it WELL with a flood of emotion. So if you're thinking of responding to give me and the rest of us a bunch of crap about how Josh Groban is only voice and how the rest of us are stupid for liking him, just don't post. If you think you know so much, let us wallow in our own "ignorance" and go listen to your own "write-their-own-songs" bands to console the part of you that we so terribly wounded. As for me, yes, this song is romantic. Yes, Josh Groban has a beautiful voice. Yes, HE IS AN AMAZING SINGER. And yes, I melt whenever I hear this song. |

| Gackt – December Love Song (English Version, Not Translation) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
There are some grammar errors, but Gackt does sing them. Very good song -- I love the English version. The only other version that tops this one is the Mandarin version. :) The melody is very Christmas-y but the lyrics are bittersweet compared with the Japanese version. Awesome song -- people should really listen to it! |

| An awesome song. Pretty simple lyrically, but the melody is very nice. :) | |

| Lara Fabian – The Dream Within Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I hate it when people post on boards saying they think lyrics are stupid. But other than that, I really like the his song. The music is indeed hypnotic, though I'm not too terribly fond of her voice. It's very simple lyrically -- I agree with adamizer on that. But the lyrics are poetic, very romantic and haunting. | |
| Delerium – Silence Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is from my other post, after more careful analysis of the song: I' think this song is about drugs. I mean, she's seeking release in the silence. Of course, you can orgasm and experience release while having sex, but not likely in silence. She also says that she can't help the longing. Maybe she's depressed because a loved one dies, and in hallucinations, she sees his face, in the white haze that may be drowsy effects of the drugs. Anyway, she mentions rage. This rage can result from her depression and lonliness. So, yeah. I think this may refer to drugs. |

| Tori Amos – Black-Dove (January) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yeah, Keyyooo, this does sort of sound like a bad dream. The music has a haunting, magical, otherworldly quality to it. And the lyrics speak for themselves in metaphors and symbolism. But what else can we expect from Tori Amos? | |
| Delerium – Silence Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I agree with quiffporn. I think it's very much about sex. It's made melodic, however, by the music and the amazing imagery. ^_^ | |
| Delerium – Fallen (feat. Rani) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
At first glance, this song seems like a ghost's lament to be with someone it loves. But I think that it goes a bit deeper. The ghost, in essence, might be a person unable to approach the person he/she loves. He (for the sake of typing) is caught in two different worlds, ultimately indecision, about what he should do. Perhaps he left her for someone else, but now sees what he has done wrong. Perhaps he's repenting. But he cannot of course be revealed, or accepted by her, until the girl takes a leap of faith and trusts again. Very nice song -- nostalgic, subtly tragic, romantic, haunting. I love it! |

| Delerium – Truly Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Wow! Such a beautiful song! I love it! I'm really not sure what this song means. But I'll take a stab at it: I think that this song is an optimistic view on sorrow in the sense that it tries to find the beauty behind sorrow. Such as if there is sorrow, there must also be love and trust, as the first part of the song states. I also think that this song tries to depict a sort of life independent from fate, where people can pave their own paths without relying on destiny or anybody else ("if we're strangers here, from the day we are born / why be afraid of freedom if it is yours?), even though it's very difficult. Basically, to sum everything up, this song, I think, is about finding yourself. And emerging stronger after suffering from sorrow. It just tries to find a mean of escape from this sorrow. I hope that moderately captures the theme of the song . . . |

| Nightwish – A Return To The Sea Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I agree with the first two comments -- I think that this song is saying that whatever humans do (create or destroy), the world will continue on as it had done since the beginning of time. I'm not sure if this song compares "good" or "evil," but I definitely think that after humans (hence, the empty human skulls) taint this world and end up ultimately dying out, the purity that was once pure and savage nature will reign and endure. But then, ineveitably, some persons will taint this world once more, judging by the "tyrant's return to the sea." |

Fundamental -- P2P programs are faster, if you want to listen to it. |

| Līve – The Dolphin's Cry Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Actually, this song technically is about sex on the beach. I remember Ed saying something about it in a concert intro. And I think after the couple make love, it's so quiet that they can hear "the dolphin's cry," hence the title. But of course, knowing Live, there is probably some really deep-rooted symbolism in these lyrics. :) I think it's just their poetic interpretation of the intensity of love -- they make it mythical, intense, and fantastical, just like the sensation reaching climax. And "all these wars are over" probably refers to love in general, where people do not hate. It starts with sex then gradually encompasses all aspects of love. |

| Alter Bridge – In Loving Memory Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is probably one of my favorite songs. I think, personally, that it is Alter Bridge's best song. It's so heartfelt -- NOW I know who it's dedicated to. I know someone had passed away, but I wasn't sure who it was . . . | |
| Crossfade – Broken Like An Angel Lyrics | 21 years ago |

By the way, isn't it: "Lies take VICTIMS" not "Lies take THEIR TURNS"? (line 4) It sounds more gramatically correct, anyway. |

| Crossfade – Broken Like An Angel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is an AMAZING song. It's one of my all-time favorites. Yeah, at first, I wasn't sure if it WAS a Crossfade song. But I think it is. The voice matches, in my opinion . . . | |
