Actually it could very easily be an allusion to both. Many, addicts become so deeply codependent on the drugs that in their minds, they attribute the euphoria with a relationship and come to view them almost as a friend. When that friend eventually starts to kill you, you can't feel to an altered mind, that wouldn't feel like a betrayal? |

There is no matter of interpretation needed.... the guys are very open and honest about what this song is... if you think theres as much of an indepth metaphor to the lyrics, then your an idiot. You don't need to be religious to know this as the story of Moses, you don't even need to have seen The Ten Commandments.... if theres anybody in this country, who doesnt suffer from any sort of mental disability, over the age of 10 who doesnt at least know the basic idea of the story, then I don't know how you're physically able to type on a website. |

For all of you who keep getting pissed off that some say the song is based onExodus from the bible and correcting that it is actually based on Ten Commandments... I hate to break it to you, but the Ten Commandments ARE based on Exodus... it IS a story from the Bible... so technically, this song is based on a story from the Bible. |
