| Gorillaz – DARE Lyrics | 20 years ago |

To me, it's about getting out there and doing things yourself. Especially in these lines: "you just *think* it that's what you do baby" The song is a series of commands, and excuses ("never did no harm"), to convince the target to stop thinking and start *doing*. However, it's never really clear whether it's a good idea to "dare" or resist the pressure involved. Also, I believe the words are "it's there" and not "it's dare," but I can't be sure. :) |

Don't read too far into this. It isn't telling a story. It's an expression of a transitory feeling. It's a song about being VINDICATED. About being reborn; reformation. It's about someone "seeing in [themself] now the things [they swore [they] saw." It's about falling in love with someone beautiful and watching yourself change with love. The words express a sort of amazement at this transformation; love has been a cocoon, nuturing the speaker as they become something wonderful. The words of love are an expression of graitude and amazement. They can't believe someone so wonderful would love them, jjust as they can't believe that they themselves could ever be worthy of that love. But they are. The title says it best, they are vindicated: they are free of the selfish, loathesome person they were, and, in the love of this wonderful person, are blossoming. |

Don't read too far into everything. It's a very straight forward song. It's a song about being >vindicated |

| From what I gather, this song refers to the nishiki that is a woven rug with an intricate, raised design. | |
