it takes guts for a rockstar to talk about the infatuation he has for a fan. and im glad rivers told us about it cos it became one of the best songs of weezer. the first verse is very true and it instantly got my attention the first time i hard it. too bad it doesnt rhyme at all. but then if its too decorative then itd prolly lose the touch. |

the word *yellow* has no meaning at all. Chris was saying that he needed a word, and *yellow* was such a simple word. a simple word to represent a simple love. it can be a love song of a guy talking bout a girl, or a mother talking about her son, or simply about a friendship.

okay, when were all confused with the word *Glycerine*, maybe, it doesnt mean anything at all. its like, look, ive got a beautiful love song here, and i lack a three syllable word. so there goes Glycerine... *it might just be clear simple and plain/well thats just fine/thats just one of my names*
i dont know anything bout chemicals or what, but somebody mentioned that its a kind of explosives. and that kinda reminds me of fireworks, and then you got the line *when she falls around me*.. and aint that just beautiful... |

its one of the very rare songs that you just cant find any better lyric to the music.
i agree that there is a very strong religious relation in the song, and Billys comparing the suffering of Jesus to his depression, so hes seeing Jesus as a role model, how he was able to *face the cold alone*. the fact that theyre using a series of photographs for the music video is because the song is about capturing the very beautiful moment of yer life (like at the end of the video when James and Darcy were on the swings!!). and love can make all beautiful things last forever. |
