| Pink Floyd – Interstellar Overdrive Lyrics

It's very interesting to watch Syd use a Zippo lighter as a slide when playing this. However, I noticed something interesting (and very confusing) in the book "Another Brick in the Wall." It says
Barret : Guitars, lead vocals (verses 2, 4, and 5)
Waters : Bass guitar, backing vocals
Wright : Fafisa organ, piano, lead vocal (verses 1-4)
Mason : Drums
I don't know if it's an error or if there is a version of this song with vocals. I've certainly never heard of such thing, but I was hoping someone else could help me out. |

Just to shake my head and wonder why this was even said... Les uses slaps, pops, strums, and plucks in pretty much every song. Those are by far not all of the bass guitar techniques, either. Les actually plays with his fingernails in a percussive manner (hence his unquiely thin sound). He is also a master of tapping on the bass guitar. I know that comment was made very long ago, but I just read it today... so fuck me. |

I believe this is called "Fisherman Chronicles pt. II" because it's a follow-up to John the Fisherman. In that case, of the three parts, this is my least favorite. I like it a lot, though... however, I wish "Those Damn Blue Collar Tweekers" would've been just before "Los Bastardos" and this would've been some other track. Just an opinion wth nothing to do with the meaning, though. |

This song is fairly difficult to pull off on a four-string bass. It's a lot easier to play on a six-string... However, on the "Suck on This" version of the song, Les didn't own a six-string. Must've been pretty easy for him... fucker. |

This song really stands out on the album... Tim goes crazy on the drums after the second verse. Les goes crazy on the bass all throughout the song before that and later after the "break." Too bad it's followed by a slowed-down grandpa singing in the shower. I wish it would've cut right into Tommy the Cat. |

It's insane to consider Les Claypool (despite him being an amazing bassist) 'better' than Victor Wooten... that's just a stupid thing to think. There are so many people better than Les Claypool. However, I will admit that his style is probably more unique than any of those well-known "bass gods" that we talk about so much. |

This song can be interpreted so many different ways... nevertheless, some people have posted some really simple-minded things. I find it slightly ironic when you consider Maynard's explanation.
Please note that I'm not a big Maynard fan, either... so if my little "DVD interpretation" isn't dead-on, don't tell me about it. |

This song is about... (According to Maynard's commentary on the Amotion DVD) someone who is too stubborn (or stupid?) to understand all of the wisdom that you have to offer them. The title was a joke because he actually had nine friends in mind when he wrote it, and they were all Libras. He named it "3 Libras" to watch them fight over who the three were.
So that's the actually meaning, though it shouldn't change any personal meanings. Personally, however, I can think of a few idiots who just don't understand the things I say as deeply as they should. They just look for the most obvious of meanings. In that respect, this is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. |

I think Steve Harris wrote this song, but I'm probably wrong (not much of a researcher). He's a really good song writer, but this is by far not the best Iron Maiden song. However, the lyrics are more "personal" than the average IM song... only a true asshole cannot relate to this song...
Just kidding... I know some assholes who like this song, too. |

This is one of my favorite Iron Maiden songs... I had no idea what it was about prior to getting a start on this website. Bruce Dickinson is the best history teacher I've ever had. |

I really doubt this song is about death. Mainly because he says "A tiny hole to move and breathe is all that I would ever need." Why would he need to breathe if he was dead? Think about it.
It seems more like it's about living a life of peaceful seclusion. I don't even see this song as being "depressing" like most people do. It's actually a very uplifting message when you think about it. |

It's so retarded that people think his guitar is talking. I guess I should keep it a secret... but that's actually him talking "into" his guitar. It's just a voice box. I think the best thing about the live version is that little keyboard solo. Oh yeah... and he says "That's all right." |

I'm with Bellyfull on this one completely. I think the narrator was the driver. It shows irony. I rather this song on the Live at the Garden DVD, mainly because it doesn't have those horrible backing vocals. Also, Boom's solo is great. |
