The song held one image for me the first time I heard it - imagine being locked up for a long time (mentally, not physically) and then suddenly released. The journey from this captivity is the song. It's probably nothing to do with the song, but I can't get this idea out of my mind when "this cool night air is curious..." |

I'm amazed no-one has mentioned assisted suicide. He witnessed a death, that's for sure. Was it murder, assisted suicide or just a bystander? The emotional side of it is pretty clear - the guy has a great deal of feelings for her - "I breathed, then dried you off..." |
