there are actually a lot of different things throw into this song...for example, this set of lines is relating to witch trials, where they'd throw the suspected witches into a lake with their hands tied behind their backs, and if they floated, they were a witch, but if they drown, then they weren't, they'd be dead christians and go to "heaven". Ummm, yeah, just some mindless knowledge.
