wow man.. finally what ive been lookin for... Sonata A are the best n they're writin is uncomprehensible.... the music is niiice... hard and easy on guitar! anyways, tru.. ima put my own thingy then discuss the other points of view which left me wide mouthed or wide eyed, w-e.. tru, the song is about a werewolf, like "Wolf and raven" they put wolfs. many of these bands are obssessed with fairytales and that good stuff, so its not surprising that SA are writin about werewolves.. so of korse, the man is stanidn alone with fear o being caught and/or hurtin someone (or hurtin his girl)... Werewolves are (if they existed) hunted by men, but they are also dangerous and they hunt men... So he tries to hide himself, yet his girl find him... "It has no name, there's one for every season" i dont understand that. ""I'll be safe in the cornfields"," as in safe from ppl who wanna hurt him or that he could hurt. "find a barn which to sleep in, but can he hide anymore Someones at the door" he wants to hide from everybody but some one knows where he is or has found him by coincidence... ", understanding too demanding" Like python says, she loves him n wants him, but maybe thats what skares him too, kos she wants him that much that it becomes more "demanding" than "understanding"... "Can this be wrong, it's love that is not ending Makes him insane again" this is not the 1st time it has happened, so maybe he has killed the girl he loves someime b4 too... "She should not lock the open door" dont understand that yet, not even much with Python's explanation, lol... "(run away run away, run way)" run away from him.... or maybe he runs away from her, but nahh, she from him... (i hate how the bakcin volcals sound so high that they sound gay) "Fullmoon is on the sky and He's not a man anymore" prety obviouse he turned into this monster... "She sees the change in Him but can't (run away run away, run away) See what beccame out of her man... Fullmoon" this makes sense like "She sees the change in Him but can't run away run away, run away" and "She sees the change in Him but can't See what beccame out of her man... Fullmoon" so maybe she cant runaway now, kos he's unto her, or she loves him that much that she can't see the change that he is enduring... or maybe its just dark and she doesnt kno the danger about to be faced... "She doesn't wanna wait. "We've gotta make the love complete tonight..."" maybe she's tired of waitin for him, or maybe they never actually fnishd doing "it". or maybe is some kind of metaphor for love, not as in makin love, but as in loving each other despite the differences or fears or w-e... "In the mist of the morning he cannot fight anymore Thousands moon or more, he's been howling Knock on the door, and scream that is soon ending Mess on the floor again..." maybe when he's fear is gone he feels weak, when hes not a werewolf anymore he is weak... and it's always like this, since he might b immortal its always the same thing, night after night.. or maybe the same thing with this particular girl...... "Knock on the door, and scream that is soon ending Mess on the floor again..." pretty obvious and st8 forward... his 1st reaction was to kill who ever was at the door.. but, why "knock" if the door is "open"??? "We should not lock the open door (run away run away, run away) Fullmoon is on the sky and he's not a man anymore We see the change in him but can't (run away run away, run away) See what became out of her darling man See what became out of that man" Don;t know if it really becomes "we", but that would mean that "she" is no more... that she is now gone, he killed her, and we are the ones left to see what has happened and how she probably loved him so much that she coudlnt see the change in him... so all in all is the story of a werewolf who kills his girlone night, the love of his life, probably... And how she loved him so much that she was blind to the problem... |

| Sonata Arctica – Fade to Black (Metallica cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |

lets see, altho SA is more melodic, the whole song but the second part of the song is more melodic and sad done by SA.. the whole song is more sad (or sadder, haha) done my metallica, kos SA doesn do it with such feeling until the second part.. n they add it more speed... the background sound n the guitar on the background between the verses (the heavy part) is nice as SA does it, but Metallica's way is more contrast. the contras of feelin down n depressed, n the other feeling of hate n rage... n besides, MEtallica is trash metal, so they gotta add the metal... The endin of SA leaves u wantin the solo and the heavy part, but it leaves u feelin like ur in a dream, in a twighlight zone.... I love how my now-new fav. band remade a my favorite song of my old fav. band... hehe |

true that man. i always thought that when he says "morning's here, I must have... failed..." he means, krap, im stil alive! if they put this much into the lyrics, then they could put it into the music too, so as the song is sad, the part when the electric comes could be symbolyzing the strikin fear and feelin of being alive still... he says "i must have... faiiiiilleeeed" n b4 he finishes failed, the guitars come, as if they were killing or striking him, I always imagine this part as he singin this on a dark background n then then guitars are like some kind of light passin thru him n he fallin to the ground... or he kneeling down and the guitars are like fire passin around him n then the camera going away from him.. ideas... |

| Our Lady Peace – Innocent Lyrics | 20 years ago |

hey man, can anyone please explain the meanin of the song!!! this is SONG MEEEEAAAANINGS! not "share your moments of joy and rage while listening to the CD!" so ok, the song is pretty str8 forward... it kind sounds to me like a parody of "Youth of the nation" from POD, kos it goes the same way n even the final chorus is the same, with the children in the back ground... both songs r nice n have deep meanin, but is OLP's song a real song or is it some kind of parody... or just coincidence or inspired??? and lastly, what is Our Lady Peace mean? it sounds to me like a good ol' Catholic church or something, like Our Lady of Guadalupe or Chiquinquirá (in Colombia! hehe) or somethin similar.. any one kno??? |

appears on wht?? n wht??? obviously, song about a girl running away with her "love of her life" but he betrays her, all he did was get sex, get her pregnant n get another girl... Mary-Lou... marry you... he won't marry you, says the song... like in "Shamandalie" Sham and a lie... "life isnt gray"? i dont get that... also he says that she wants to go to her parents again "Need to come home again" "Despite all the papers been signed mama take me back be so kind" altho maybe he did marry her, "all the papers been signed" as in the marriage.... n since she's married, she's not supposed to go home... |

| Sonata Arctica – Letter To Dana Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
good points my frnds... Closest people and irony on "beautiful day" More than irony, sarcasm... "And I don't want to bother You anymore, I used to hope you'd come back But not anymore Dana." But yeh, I think that it is a song about a not-so-good girl, and that he doesnt wanna bother her, since she doesnt want him. I can relate to that song, not with just one girls, kos one got mad at me, and the other one ran away, but who kares bout it, haha Anyway, he says she ran away, and also that even though she has sinned, her father (whoever that might be) has forgiven her, and the singer wants her to stop (yeh relates to me, but who kares). "My eyes might have betrayed me, but I have seen Your picture on the cover of a filthy magazine And I think my heart just cannot handle that Dana, my darling, would be so bad. " If taken literally, she became a pornstar. Maybe it is not literal, but more subtle; perhaps she became some knd of slut or something, and he represented her in that way. When you care about someone, is hard to accept they are doing wrong, and he wants to help her and doesnt want to accept that she has changed... he wished his mind was playing tricks on his mind "My eyes might have betrayed me" "And I didn't mean to bother you anymore Your mother wished: Come visit your faters grave, Dana" Most likely last time he wrote to her she didnt respong well... Also, might be that she was not such a good daughter to her father, therefore her mother wishes (wished) that Dana could visit him, grant his wish. "Your father disowned you because you have sinned But he did forgive you in condition he was in And I you won't do those things anymore Dana My darling I'm waiting for" correction: "and I hope you..." Seems her father didnt want her anymore in the sense he did not want to face that his daughter turned into this... But, mercyfully, he still forgives her when he's about to die ("But he did forgive you in condition he was in") "Dana O'Hara oh, Dana my dear, How I wish that my Dana was here Little Dana O'Hara decided one day to travel away, faraway" The "O'Hara" could be her last name, or it could be somethign like their song "Shamandalie" and "Mary-Lou": Sham and a lie. Marry you... She ran away (like one girl i met, hehe) "No, you can't surprise me anymore I have seen it all before But it seems I cannot let you go Anyhow, Dana, Dana, Dana, Dana" No matter how bad stuff she does, he still loves, or wishes to love her... (like the other girl.. now 3 this relates to) "And I think that I told you, I'd wait for you forever Now I know someone else's holding you, so, for the first time in my life - I must lie Lie's a sin, mess that I am in, Love is not the thing I feel know I promise you: I won't write again 'til the sun sets behind your grave" Confusing..... Seems that to S.A. sin is a very bad thing (their song "8th Commandment")... He would wait for her forever, like one always says, but since she has someone now, maybe he won't hold on to what he said... the lie part, i dono what he's lying about... Maybe he doesnt feel love anymore, he might feel hate, or maybe lust.... It is clear she doesnt want him, n it bothers her to hear from him, (like the second girl it relates to, in my case, lol) so he makes his vow to never write to her until she dies... "Dana, oh, Dana I'm writing to you, I heard you passed away it was a beautiful day I'm old and I feel time will come for me, my diarys pages are full of thee" Indeed she died, so he can write again to her. However, all his diary is full of her, which means no matter how he tried, he could not forget her, but he kept his promise and didnt write to her, this write ABOUT her.... im done... some one figure out the lie part.... n then tell me my mistakes, hehe God bless you all |

| Sonata Arctica – 8th Commandment Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
there is no commandment that says "thou shall not lie" Different religions have different orders, on some the 8th commandment is "You shall not steal." altho this one is the 7th in others. the 8th Commandment, however, is "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" Which is basically not to lie, but it does not say "thou shall not lie"... confusing... All in all, what they (Sonata A) might be saying is that lying will be punished, and death, furthermore, going to hell ("Can you feel the fire burning ") is the consequence... This is not true at all, for God will not send you to hell for lying, but it is a sing alright. "Remember to pray, and what the Bible says and you will live thru eternity You haven't hear of this? There is something you missed - it will cost you so heavily." The commandments are on Exodus 20 "When you're done with him, you know where you have been, He will treat us all equally. Can you feel the fire burning" Could be talking about God or the devil, or both. "He" is spelled with capital H, therefore refering to God, however, they talk abotu the "fire", and of course, that is not God |
