This is the first song I learned to play on guitar. I listened to this song a lot after a boy in my school killed himself because he knew he was going to die of a disease he had before he was 25. Everyone in my town said he had "so many choices"... like he could seek therapy, and how maybe a cure would come out soon, or how maybe he would have lived past 25. I know the song doesn't have to deal with suicide, but it spoke to me that way. |

I wish the world leaders would take this song to heart and dedicate more money to helping people all over the world instead of our own needs all the time. This song really spoke to me, and we recently used it for a song for our church retreat about living in Jesus' image. This song is truly amazing, and I defineately have a ton of respect to Sarah. |

I love the ending to this song on Some Devil. It's like one of those symphonies that you just get lost in. Beautiful song. |

A great song about being determined with your dreams. Lately, I've been considering joing the Peace Corps. All I know is that I want to change the world for the better, in one way or another. However, I have a lot of skeptic people in my town. One of my teachers warned me that if my plans fail, I'll be left with no way to spend my life. This song actually helped to keep me sticking to my dreams. This song is beautiful, and Dave Matthews is a genius. |

| Dave Matthews – Save Me Lyrics

Perhaps the line "You might try saving yourself" is about the crucifixion of Jesus, when the cheif preists and scribes and other people mocked Him.
"Those passing by reviled him, shaking their heads and saying 'You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself, if you are the Son of God, and come down from the cross.' Likewise, the chief priests and with the scribes and elders mocked Him and said 'He saved others, but he cannot save himself. So he is the king of Israel! Let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe him." --Matthew 27: 39-42
Regardless of what the song means, it's still great, as is all of Dave's work. |
