| Missy Higgins – All For Believing Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| My interpretation of this song comes from personal experiences. All for believing, is about being withdrew, because of circumstance, no matter how much you love the person, or wanted to be with them. It's about knowing if they feel the same way about you, it's about having faith in the person, and living in hope. Hoping and believing that one day you could be together, and one day they could come in and find your soul. Even when "Faith grows old" and "Life turns cold" you still have to believe in that person. The person missy is singing about is holding back, and all she wants is for the person to let her in. She doesn't say much as to why the person won't let her in, so I interpret it as they aren't alowed to be together. That's just how I look at it in relation to my life. Any thoughts? | |
| Missy Higgins – Nightminds Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is one of the best songs on the album. I feel this song is pretty self-explanatory. It deals with the issue of depression and bi-polar disorders. "out of our nightminds, and into the light at the end of the fight...". If anyone else is dealing with depression, they would know that the nights are such a struggle, such a fight. Missy is saying that she can help her loved one out, that it doesn't have to be that way, that they don't have to be alone, and they can fight depression together and see the light at the end of night. Any thoughts? |

| Missy Higgins – Ten days Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I totally agree with you Tyruunie. I am Australian, living overseas so I can totally relate to what you're saying, and what Missy is trying to express. I got this CD two days before I moved back after Christmas break and 'Ten Days' just sums up the feeling of loosing someone perfectly. When you're at home, with the people you love, you feel accepted, safe and warm. When you're away by yourself, you feel foreign, out of place and lonely. I feel like Missy left a loved one behind, and for her, no matter what, that person is home. "You said this hill looks far too steep, if I'm not even sure it's me you wanna keep." I feel like this deals with the issues of long distance relationships. |
