okay people let's stop being arrogant and pretentious for a sec and look at the band for what it is - a fun, crazy rock band created as a sort of tribute to the great rock bands of the 70's and 80's. I've seen them live a few times, and I have to strongly disagree with anyone who says the lead singer/band isn't talented - He is absolutely amazing on the guitar live - literally carried thru the crowd, playing a solo, backwards, and perfectly - as a guitarist myself i truly have to appreciate it even if most of their songs aren't meaningful or original - anyway i do enjoy the rush of nostalgia they bring to the modern music scene, the big hair, high notes, and sparkly unitards do remind me of the *amazing* Queen and I like it - if only they could write music like them - now that would be awesome |

mkay, cool interpretations of this song are fun (except for the AIDS one which is just blatantly wrong and ignorant considering Freddie didn't even know he had AIDS yet) but in reality the song is just a fun, mini-rock opera, as stated by the band themselves as others have noted - i just wanted to reiterate that b/c if you look at it as a fun, entertaining little rock-opera you can enjoy it as such, instead of a sad, melodramatic song. I also just wanted to answer somebody's crazy post up there about this song being an improv, spurr of the moment thing - it took 3 weeks for them to write bohemian rhapsody. All i have to say is Magnifico!!! |
