thehumanresponse: was that article you read from SPIN magazine? i read all that too. it made me cry like no other. anyway, i was just going to add more... so he felt extremely guilty for leaving his mom with his abusive stepfather and how he still loved her even though he would never be able to know her with him around. "XO, mom. it's ok, it's alright, nothing's wrong. tell mr. man with impossible plans to just leave me alone. in the place where i make no mistakes, in the place where i have what it takes." that part really gets to me. in the interview it said that elliott had a ton of supressed memories coming back to him and he believed that his stepdad abused him sexually, when trauma like that happens to the brain at such a young age your brain can just erase them. he finally got the courage to tell his mom but he had to convince her that he was still okay. he wanted to confront his stepfather with his accusations but he 'didn't have what it takes' and he had made too many mistakes in his life to accuse others of things they've done wrong because it'd be hypocritical. this is all partly interview info and partly what i interpreted... just to clear that up... |
