I think he is making fun of jesus, hence the part in it where Jesus leaves the message on Billy's answering machine. I think that's in jest. Jesus loves his babies, I'm not in the sunshine.. I think thats pretty much saying Jesus loves his babies but im not one of them. I think the whole theme in the song is 'I dont care about Jesus.' |

| I think Billy Corgan felt very alienated in highschool and that could be the source of this song. It was written for/about jesse. I'm guessing that when he says 'we' he is referring to Jesse's handicap and Billy's birthmark (which he has said made him feel alienated) | |

I dont know, I've always viewed it as kind of a tribute to god.. kind of like saying 'thanks'. If there is a god, I know he likes to rock.. If god exists, I know he has blessed me with this talent? I'm not sure. Just another perspective. I really like the piano version of this song, It's probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. |

Oh come on! No ones made a comment on this song yet. I absolutely love this song, it's been my favorate song for like 6 years. This song isnt too hard to interpret and if I've done it right then it has a great message which just makes me like the song even more. Basically what I got out of it was, if you fuck up, or get fucked up somehow, dont be irrational. Don't do anything stupid, and dont commit suicide. There's no reason to get depressed or throw a fit about it because sooner or later, its going to be over your shoulder. I've liked this song since I was 9 years old. And it still sticks with me. It's powerful shit. :) |

That's James Iha singing. (He also sings in Take Me Down on MCIC, and probably others but thats one off the top of my head.) Maybe it's about Billy's ex, I doubt it though. You would think that Billy would be singing if it was. I dont really know the details of his divorce so it's hard to say. I do know that he was deeply in love though. |
