well, after going through the situation i had with my girlfriend, this is what i think;
this person is in a situation that he doesn't know how to handle by themself...whether he should break up or stay together. so he looks to a friend or someone to help him out with the ordeal. eventually they realize they fucked up and really wants to save the relationship. so i think the chorus basically says they know they done wrong and hopes the other person can learn from all the mistakes made and save them from doing something stupid and try to help work things out
i dunno if that made sense but that's what i think, but then again, every song means something different to another person, depending on what they been through.. |

This is my interpetation of this song...
It's about two people who are good friends, but their friendship has sexual benefits...basically a fuck buddy as one would say, yet they're not considered boyfriend/girlfriend. Anyways, other friends and people believe it's an odd relationship and it should not continue but as long as the two are willing to remain friends not matter what, the sex will continue (pay me now, lay me down)...

i wanna try my luck on the "bloc party guessing game here" so here i go;
I agree with the Bush theory and the Just like his dad lyrics. The Line where he says Queing up for some more junk food...i think he's trying to say the Bush administration were cooking up more lies to get the people involved in war and America being the way we are...the people ate that shit up. The course Are you hoping for a miracle...I think he's just saying that all of Bush's decisions he's relying on an answered prayer from God for the outcome. Hoping everything goes the way he plans. But, when it backfires, he they deny responsibility and place blame on someone else...this is where i belive the "It's not my fault, it's not my fault" line comes into play. Well, that's my opinion and now i'm tired and have killed about 10 minutes of my life writing this comment so away I go. |
