Yeah, I guess I just don't get it. Even from the first time I heard this, I didn't like it. It gets worse everytime I hear it. One of the few songs that I always have to skip over on the CD or change the station if I'm listening to the radio. I guess my main problem with it is that it's too simple and repetitive. I don't like the fact it's just mainly that drum beat you hear for most of the song. |

Thanks for all the translating. Only thing I don't understand is what the guys are saying in the background at the end of the song. Kind of sounds like "dieheynew" but I have no idea.

The fact that so many people have so many different interpretations for this song is one reason for its greatness. Personally this song is about drugs, but that's only part of it. This song is about a lifestyle. One that many rock stars get sucked into. If you know the Eagles you know that they liked being successful but they also realized the dangers of living in that lifestyle- sex, drugs, and rock n' roll baby. Just listen to the lyrics for Life In the Fast Lane, this is just another example of the same thing. And yes this is also one of my all time favorite songs. |

Although Blondie is one of my favorite bands, I think this is probably the second greatest stalker song. Number one being Every Breath You Take by the Police. This song is definitely more straight forward about it though. |
