the song is just a general description of how pc everything is. it just seems like you can't say anything without offending someone these days because our country has become so diverse. they don't think they should catch crap for what they say because they don't mean to offend anyone, they're just speaking their mind, no one can think freely because of the limitations put on us |

its just sarcasm, the whole "paul is dead" thingy. sr-71 does a lot of beatles covers...i can only assume they're huge fans (or at least mitch is anyway) |

does anyone else sort of think its wrong that bowling for soup asked if they could cover this song? I don't really think its wrong, I guess I just feel like SR-71 got cheated. I didn't even know they really did this song until I got this cd (after i heard the bfs cover) well its cool, they both sound good but i do like sr-71s better. |

ewww country-ish?!?!? i don't think so...i hate country, they have a twang in their voice, but joel...what can I say? this song makes me melt. all the emotion joel pours in the end...the song itself is kind of sad but you can really feel the emotion which makes it absolutely astounding!! i LOVE this song!!!! |

if you didn't want to read joel's "thank you"s, why did you click the link?? anyways, it doesn't matter if you didn't buy the cd, in paul's thank yous he says something like "thanks everyone who bought stole or borrowed the cd" or something like that |

why shouldn't benji be in the song?? him and tony are like best friends. a lot of bands collaborate...get over it! besides benji sounds good in the song. And I'll admit, the only reason i've even heard of mest is because i saw GC on tour and mest opened for them but hey that's what made me a fan of mest. I think its really shallow and judgemental how people say all good charlotte fans are teeny-boppers, sure there are a couple (ok maybe a hell of a lot more) but still, i know so many people who like gc who aren't like that and i know some who only like gc cuz benji or joel or whoever is soooo sexi... i still like gc, they play good music (in my opinion anyway) And I don't really think Benji hurt mest by singing in this song. As far as I'm concerned, mest still isn't mainstream...and they are a little ska...gc isn't. Well anyway my bitch fest is coming to an end... I like the song, it has a great meaning...
...by the way does anyone know if thats benji at the very end of the cd after 25 to life? I heard it was and it kind of sounds like him...just wondering |

| Green Day – Give Me Novacaine Lyrics

obviously this isn't when Jesus was introduced to drugs. In JOS it says "to fall in love and fall in debt to alcohol and cigarettes and mary jane to keep me insane doing someone else's cocaine". Novacaine could possibly be harder drugs he gets into (depending on how you interpret it) But I think Novacaine is used to symbolize suicide. he never takes the novacaine he just asks for it and Jimmy leads him on cuz he's the "bad one". The last thing he says is "so give me novacaine" and then it goes right into "she's a rebel..." implying that when he meets whatsername, everything gets better until letterbomb. OR (i just now thought of this) the novacaine is a figurative state of mind where Jimmy numbs the presence of Jesus or at least that was probably Jimmy's goal b/c it says "Jimmy says its better than here" so he was probably trying to manipulate Jesus so he could officially "take over" HA! Either way they pretty much go hand in hand |

ok so I didn't read all of these post cuz there's like 102 but has anyone recognized the parallels between JOS (in particular City of the Damned) and Dante's Inferno? Dante imagines heaven as surrounding the entire earth so its not like heaven is up and hell is down. So then Hell would be condensed in the center of the earth. "i read the graffiti in the bathroom stalls like the holy scriptures in a shopping mall and so it seems to confess it didn't say much but it only confirmed that the center of the earth is the end of the world...city of the dead...city of the damned" i don't think the storyline is set in hell but i think "the center off the earth" parallels it.
This whole cd rocks I can't wait for the movie!!! |
