| The Cure – The Caterpillar Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Two of my favourite lines of all time are drawn from this song: Dust my lemon lies, with powder pink and sweet! And: the flames that kiss me dead. The song may not contain much content but its imagery is strong. | |
| The Cure – A Strange Day Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's about the end of the world and what he would do if it were the end of the world... Take it all in, laugh, and remember a forgotten song. Sing it sweetly for tomorrow may never come. | |
| The Cure – Fire in Cairo Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's not just about fingering a girl, it's about passion, a sort of trip where he's in (well, let me guess, Cairo, Egypt?) and he sees a beautiful girl whom he has a passion for but she doesn't exist, it was (figuratively) in his head. | |

| The Cure – Wendy Time Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I personally think this song is about Siouxsie. Sorry if this appears double-posted, I posted it once and it didn't appear., | |
| The Cure – Watching Me Fall Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It either sounds like he keeps getting loaded and finding Japanese hookers, or he keeps getting loaded and having an extramarital affair with a woman (in Tokyo?) | |
| The Cure – Wendy Time Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I, controversially, think that this song is about Siouxsie. | |
| The Cure – A Letter to Elise Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Perhaps this is inspired by Kafka and his mistress, perhaps not. Of all the interviews I have ever seen and of all the literature about The Cure I have read, of all the concerts I have seen, of all the fans I have spoken to, I have never heard this. Where did you get this, beehaus? My personal conclusion was this was about a man and his far away lover living inside an ideal love, and they came to the realization that it wasn't what they thought, they couldn't sustain this fantasy relationship, because, perhaps, they didn;t know each other as well as they thought. | |
| The Cure – World in My Eyes Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love The Cure. They are my favourite band, unquestionably. However, one thing I have always said is that never do a DM or a Cure cover, because it is career suicide and you can't do it better than the original. I must say that this holds true, except the career suicide part. | |
| The Cure – Disintegration Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
The time I heard him play this live he forgot the line "through the mouth of your eye" and it screwed up the whole song :) I feel as though he wrote this song about a relationship that ended because he was always gone, most likely busy with The Cure. And when doesn't Robert Smith speak of self-destruction figuratively? I reference these lines for this conclusion: Now that I know that I'm breaking to pieces I'll pull out my heart And I'll feed it to anyone Crying for sympathy Crocodiles cry for the love of the crowd And the three cheers from everyone The only lines that throw me off are The aching kiss before I feed The stench of a love for a younger meat And the sound that it makes When it cuts in deep but he may be speaking about groupies and his lust. |
