my take: he is recalling a girl (perhaps a specific girl given the clues to describe her (gusty blow / lava flow theme)) the first part he recalls who he first thought she was, being so into her but she was only who he thought she was next two parts: but this one time, he really had her and saw this whole new person that was unlike anything else. "with limp arms" - it took giving up on putting so much of himself into this ideal of who she is next to last part: giving up on who he thought she was sooo worth it. all the past doesnt hurt. last part: he holds on to this memory and moves him deeply, but it is just a memory and memories have that way of being twisted in retrospect. he sweasrs she felt it too... but maybe it was like the first version of her he saw? only in his head? |
