sucks to be you then, Nehllah. in the meantime. i almost think he's joking about it. I mean "I can tell you're gonna be just like me"? come on! If it's true that he was with someone online, then i would believe that he'd make this song after he broke up with her and realizing how online relationships just weren't working for him and the senselessness of it. He doesn't sound serious AT ALL in this song. |

"there's 2 videos to this song, aren't there? one with the girl and the video camera, and one with just Muse performing, with loads of weird shapes and things" There are three. The American version with the one girl, the UK version with many girls and the one where they're just playing. I think of this as kind of Requiem for a Dreamish. Basically, you have so much faith in something or want something so badly you'll do anything for it, and in the end, if you don't get it, it'll drive you insane. I honestly don't think this song is about a prostitute -.- Even from the video I can't see that. In terms of the video, I think he met some chick, started having sex, he freaked, scared the shit out of her, she left and now he has an obsession for this wonderful, beautiful woman he almost had but never will. |

It's amazing how these lyrics work out. Maroon 5 knows the score. They say it so simply, but they do it in a way that just...works. I love that they don't need to be cryptic in their lyrics. Sadly, this song is PERFECT for a problem I was having with a friend. With the whole thing about how "you can push me away, but I won't let it get to me, I'll grow and learn from it, and you won't be able to stand the idea that I CAN go on without you." I used to listen to this song and think, "this is how it is." Because they do know, they aren't just talking out of their asses. |
