Not to be be overly simplistic, but I think this song is about a lady bringing the narrator a bunch of food, and he likes her, regardless of food quality ("feeling sick in a good way") and the title is him transferring his like of the lady onto the food. "king of the crops" because she cooked them for him and thus the yams are partly responsible for the relationship.

I think it's quite obviously about a homosexual encounter. That's no big deal, I've nothing at all against gay people (it'd be a bit hypocritical seeing as I swing both ways.)
Anyway, the point. Who cares about the sex? It's a hot, kickass song and it's sexxay and fun to do a dorky dance to. Problem solved.
Get over your homophobic little selves, yeah? |

It's gotton to the point were even listening to the most upbeat Libetine songs makes me depressed.
I love them endlessly, but all of the angst, drugs and breakups really wear you down after awhile. (Doesn't keep them from always being on my playlist, just means I tend to be weepy more often.)
A great libs song, but nothing beats "Anything But Love" and "You're My Waterloo". Those two kill me in the best possible way. |
