I totally disagree with anyone who says there's something wrong with the words and theme in this song. There's so much more to it than just what's on the surface, if you'd bother to get past it.
It's basically the musical equivalent of being violently angry at someone and not being able to control your emotions. It's very cathartic, like breaking inanimate objects to deal with your pain. Instead of doing these things, he's writing what he feels he could do.....it's better, believe me.
I especially like the sexual debauchery line, because I've felt that strongly before about an ex, and there are truly girls who deserve having that kind of thing said about them.

This song is extremely disturbing/beautiful, like all their other music. It's really the only band that seems like they're plumbing the depth of human evil while still making it sound beautiful.
I also love the video for this song because it's equally twisted, and if you watch John throughout the song, they pan to his crotch and he's packing wood, which conveys the feeling that he's getting off to the evil and the pain. Just an interesting thing, I thought. |

I think that the whole intro with the sharpening of knives and how that's used as the beat through the whole song is very eerie and grating. Things like that are what makes this band so damn amazing. |

It's totally about Heroin. You can draw your own conclusions as you like, but that's what it is. I kind of like the vampire scenario though, and it would fit with Alkaline Trio's obsession with all things dark.
This song has to be the best of the cd, vying with Blue in the Face and All In Black. |

Are you sure it isn't "Codine frequent" as opposed to Co-Defrequent? Because I can't make any sense of that at all, and Codine would probably fit in better. |
