This bugged me too, a lot. Just an obvious flaw in an awesome story. But then after paying attention to this part from Part III: "I couldn't save her, I know she will die But please, if I could only tell her goodbye All I want is just one more day that morning in May..." I realized that the beings (angels?) only sent him back so he could see her again and say goodbye. Possibly they wouldn't allow him to save her, so instead he gets in the car with her. |
