I believe that this song means that this man was and still is in love with a woman, but she cheated on him. This drove him to insanity and, without anyone knowing, he locked her in a room with only a piano in it. He would come in the room and make her play for him, him still believing she only loved and wanted to be with him. He never let her out of the room, she died at the piano. When people finally questioned where she was, it was too late to do anything, she was already dead. This is only the direct meaning, as Exile said it more than likely has double-meaning and that when she cheated on him he just lashed out and killed her. Either way, they loved each other, she cheated, he killed her, shes dead. An excellent song that is exactly what I expected from rammstein. A complete twist of lyrics and music; this music would never hint at the meaning, until the end. As well as being laced with double meanings. |
