Most of Conor's songs are very sad lyricaly. But there seems to be a sort of mysterious optimism in this song, as if Conor is trying to tell his listeners, "don't worry, it'll all be ok in the end." At least thats the impression that I get. |

The song is obviously about a deep love, that has been established. It describes an extrordinary love that lasts even beyond death. As far as the catholic school verse goes, i think that he uses the line "Son,
Fear is the heart of love" to show a type of love that is the complete opposite of the feelings that he is conveying in the song. Does that make sense? |

The song talks about him plotting out his death, and was determined in chicago. In the song lets not shit ourselves he talks about waking up in a hospital bed in chicago after a failed suicide attempt could being "determined in chicago" does that mean that chicago was where he plotted out his death, and tried to make it happen by attempting suicide? Just a theory i suppose. |

I think that it is about an athiest coming to realize that there really is a God. the person didnt believe in a creator, to him there really being a God seemed as unrealistic and crazy as the sky falling. The second half of hte song is about an athiest who is in denial, "this isn't happening the sky is really falling " ......at least thats what i think |

even though its already been mentioned im going to mention how much i love and relate to the closing line, "i'l fight like hell to hide that i've given up" I think that it really portrays the panic and desperation of someone that has completely given up and lost hope, when i hear that line i think of a hurt dog thats been backed into a corner thats fighting to stay alive...yeah, anyway. |

i love and relate to this song too! So, in the spirit of having girl problems i am going to ask you for some much needed advice.here i go! there is this girl that i don't exactly know very well, but am aquanted with. she seems really sweet and nice! but the problem is that one of her best friends asked me out a few weeks ago..and i told her no. because i genuinely dont like her as anything more than a friend.
