First of all, thanks for the site z ro! Second, People... STOP COMPLANING ABOUT "random noises" They are NOT random. With TMV, everything has a meaning or is part of the story (example: at the end of Cgynus... those noises might be the freeway that the character is riding on as he goes looking for his parents). The sounds at the beginning of this song almost drive you insane, causing you to tense up and be a little angry, which is what they probably wanted to do. Then it relizes the pressure by jumping into a freakin' awesome song. It IS AMAZING. It lives up to Cassandra, and i like how it is almost an extension of that song...truly, TMV is the Best Band Ever. |

This song is the greatest song in all of music history. Period. And i believe that dreadpirate is correct. The peson who is described in the beggining is forced dancer, because the mood is very evil, as if we are looking upon an unfolding rape scene. And the voice is modified to give you that impression and is only used here. It is graphic(if you think about it), but all in the context of the story (unlike those idiotic rap songs). Anyways, the character is nick-named "Frances the Mute" and is Cygnus Visumd's mother. Sister L'via is a nun or attendant at the church where Cygnus goes to find forgiveness and information about her parent(s). In this song i believe, Vismund learns about how she was born("conceived fom the stabbing, was Vismund Cygnus"), and that she was abandoned. i think Miranda is either the mother of Vismund, or she is sort of a side story with her own problems, but is their to help Vismund find her parents. I dunno. This song seems to jump from event to event, back and forewards in time, revealing to us what HAS happened, what IS happening, and what MIGHT happen. There just is so much to breakdown, it's hard (but not impossible) Anyways, those are my ideas. i'll end by saying this: If there was ever a band that redefined what music should be and became the greatest of all bands, it The Mars Volta. |

This song is excellent. Very mysterious and catchy. My extreme gratitude for this band. i like that these guys draw infulence from the almighty "Mars Volta" and Anthony Green's old "Saosin", a perfect blend of hard core and crazy music. -I don't think the lyrics are all right, for example: "You may defy the evidence..." "This is heretic... My body is a witch..." which would explain why he's burning it and some other lines aren't quite right, but i don't know what they are. Thanks for posting it, though. |

This is one of the coolest songs that TMV has! Spanish music has never sounded so sweet. The verse/chorus (whatever) with "Blackmailed, she fell off every mountian" is so ghostly and mysterious, it practicallly lifts you into a realm beyond your own. As does all TMV music. THIS BAND IS THE GREATEST BAND EVER!!!!!!!! ...and has the best drummer! |
