I don't know why they changed the name to Denver Max; however, I do have an opinion about the salesman part. If your read teh story, you notice that Arnold appear sto try and sell Connie freedom, love, and support. In the song, Denver does a similar thing. He tells the girl that her parents don't understand and other things. Also, Denver could refer to John Denver maybe. And Max may be another musical reference. There are numerous references in the story to music and its effect on Connie. |

I see this as Christians left on earth. If God decided to kill himself, then noone would go to heaven. The latter songs obviously relate to peopel searching for God's return. Some of them could be belivers before God died. I do see the angel reference, but I just feel that the lesser lights are Christians left behind with no where to go. |

I saw The Juliana Theory a few years back; I believe it was in the late 90's. Anyways, I had always thought the song was about abortion, and I still see it that way somethimes. However, one of the band members told us a different story, and he made us promise not to tell it. I can only say that the meaning is deeply personal, and I believe that is one of the reason's why they did not play it a lot when I first started listening to them. The last time I saw them though, in 2004, they played it. This is my favorite song on this CD. |
