I'm in the middle of reading Dan Brown's "Angels & Demons" and in the book they talk about Bernini's, "The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa". Now when I listen to Public Pervert I can't help but think of St. Teresa getting her freak on with an Angel. The Church also deemed the work of art, "pornographic", and it was for everybody to see, in a public place, of a holy land, hence why I think of "Public Pervert". Check it out google the image. I think the song fits. Good book also. ...his great golden spear...filled with fire...plunged into me several times...penetrated to my entrails...a sweetness so extreme that one could not possibly wish to stop I'm pretty convinced that that's what the song is about. And I don't think anybody will disagree the song is pure ecstasy. |

I love Paul Banks and if I wasn't straight I'd be gay and if Paul didn't take to gays I'd be a lady. Antics is beautiful definitely in my top ten all time. reading over the lyrics it really does sound like a father hoping his child stays young and innocent. This line says it all: "The boat will not stop moving if you tie him up until the end" it really sounds like he doesn't want his boy to grow, but the boat (life) will not stop even if you restrict/protect him. Cadaverous mob could mean "everybody else". "he whistles and he runs" sounds carefree and doesn't wanna be held down anymore. ""I love that all of ANTICS seems to have a maritime theme."" I love how he sings about sailing love and romance. Paul Banks is one of the best lyricists I've heard, and his voice is just awesome. |

| Sounds like someone that knows they are going to die, and struggling with believing in God and Heaven. The second chorus sounds sarcastic, as well the whole song may be. "in trouble is where I'm going to be" sounds like a bad person scared of the Ultimate, or scared for not having much faith in the first place. Beautiful song. | |

sounds like a song about addiction, glorified. that's all I could come up with. I think this has to be the best Gob song I've ever heard, twice as better than anything they've ever put out on the radio. So beautifully well crafted -the song structure, right down to the way he sings the chorus, with the chanting sing along of the verse. Just an excellent song. |

| I'm reading the book 'The DaVinci Code' and the name "rosemary" has alot of significance. When I hear the lyrics "it's the smiling on the package" I think of the Mona Lisa and everything it symbolizes. The title of the song "Evil" suddenly makes alot of sense. Paul Banks is such a great lyricist and his voice is impeccable. | |

didn't find out about this CD until the day before it came out, then I got it when it came out. Type O 2007 and still kicking ass. I have but three other Type O albums but this is by far their best effort, from what I know, IMO. "I can't believe I died last night, I'm fucking Dead Again" yeah. |

Billy Corgan is one of the better music-makers and songwriters of our time. His music is the equivalent of November Rain, beautiful and depressing at the same time. And so what if people like teenybopper songs, I like them. I know they don't have the talent of G'n'R's November Rain but hell, if they write something that people like what's to stop people from liking them? The only problem teenybopper bands have is people who CHOOSE not to like them, for whatever reason. So, you're the problem. With that said November Rain is one of my all-time favourites, always. |

she didn't like him too much cause he wasnt her style. the guy speaking in the song is obvioulsy a nerd of some sort and she doesn't care too much for him and he feels the opposite about her. he finds her bad grammar and bad english cute but him pointing that stuff out to her annoys her. If you notice the song structure it's like that of a dream. From the twinkling intro and guitars fading in (like falling asleep and slipping into dreamworld) to the outro (acoustic guitar drumming like waking up saying "oh, it was all just a dream") If you heard of REM (no not the band) they say that people dream more than once in one nights sleep, but only remember the last dream, that would be the "the night has come, to hold us young". "and if you spin your love around the secrets of your dreams you may find your love is gone and is not quite what it seemed" you dreamt you found love, only to wake up and realize it never was, and quite maybe never will be. "to appear to disappear beneath all your darkest fears" dreams come and go, and only in your dreams you can escape what you fear in the real world. "I believe in never, i believe in all the way but belief is not to notice, believe is just some faith and faith can't help you to escape" they say dreams do come true, but this is Billys depressing take on how your most secret desires (dreams) might never come to be. You can only dream about it.
