The Correct Lyrics are:

all your seven dreams
are closer than you believe
as your things come undone
see you are the only one

flower, seize the hour, the day away
waiting, waiting for your way, away

when you wake up you're away
throwing your life away
someday, sorry coming home
sorry, snail
what you wait for

flower, the pain will wash away, away
when the sunshine climbs through your window
into your bed

when you wake up you're away
throwing your life away
someday, sorry coming home
sorry, snail
yeah, live in my home

flower, seize the hour
flower, away

what you wait for
flower, taste the sunshine
flower, taste the sunshine
flower

Deftones – Elite Lyrics 20 years ago
Maybe it's just me but the part where it goes, "You’re pregnant with all this space thick with honey but I lost my taste," sounds like the Soundwave from Transformers. I like that vocal effect though, it's cool.

Don Henley – The Boys of Summer Lyrics 20 years ago
My birthday is in September too! But what does that have to do with it?? Anyway, I agree with LAbabe. It's the perfect song for that time of year when summer is just ending and autumn is just beginning.

I live in one of those bustling beach towns and like the songs says, you can feel it in the air, there's just something about the whole scene when it's that time of year, in some ways it still seems kinda like summer, but it's gonna be autumn soon and it's kind of like you don't want the summer to be over, but there's nothing you can do about it.

Plus in my opinion, part of the song seems to be about a girl that he lost, that he wants back, because he still loves her. I can relate to that. There have been times I drove by my ex-girlfriends house, just for nostalgic reasons.

Plus the line "I'm gonna get you back, I'm gonna show you what I'm made of" fits in with well all that.

Bay City Rollers – Saturday Night Lyrics 21 years ago
A lot of big names were on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony list. But one name was suspiciously absent. So if you don't mind I'd like to say something to the members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Membership Committee...
What the fuck is wrong with you people? The Bay City Rollers are one of the most talented performers in the history of popular music, and this is the thanks they get? I don't know where you were in 1975, but it was a pretty dark time for me.
My wife Betty had just left me, and I'd developed a pretty powerful crush on the old nose candy. Every night I'd end up at Plato's Retreat, backing my brains out. Bang, bang bang! Ha ha ha. Whoa nelly! Ha ha ha! Bang, BANG BANG! WHOA, MAMA! AH! But the point is, the point is, the Bay City Rollers and their music, that sweet delicious music got me though that revered, fevered summer. The Bay City Rollers saved my life. And for that, they deserve a place in the pantheon.
Hit it!
Gotta keep on dancin' to the rock n roll
Saturday night! Saturday night!
Dance to the rhythm in my heart and soul!
Saturday night, Saturday night!
I, I, I, I just can't wait!
I, I, I, I got a date...
Ah! I'm sorry! I'm sorry I can't go on! I'm sorry! No! No! I'm sorry! I can't..no! I'm sorry!

Elton John – Rocket Man Lyrics 21 years ago
Everyone is entitled to their own interpretation, but I don't get the "closeted homosexual" thing though. Is that to say that he doesn't "understand the science" of being gay? Or being gay is "just his job 5 days a week?" I don't know about that! But yeah, it's pretty obvious that this song is "loosley" based upon the short story "The Rocket Man" by Ray Bradbury. I put loosley in quotes because it seems to me like it is full on based on that story. I've read it, and I bet if you read it, you'll feel the same way about this song. The story is set in the future, and it's about a family, a husband, wife and their son. The mother's name is Lilly, that's the only name they ever mention. The husband is a rocket man, an astronaut. When he goes into space, he is there for 3 months at a time, alone, every time. It has negative effects on his wife and son, who is 14. In the story it is mentioned that he has visited Mercury, Venus, Mars (here is your "Mars ain't the type of place to raise your kid" line) Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. Obviously, his wife and son want him to give up the job and stay home, fearing that he will die in space. He tells his son never to become a rocket man, explaining to him that when he's out in space, he wants to be back on Earth, andhow he misses everything, but when he's back home, he wants to be out in space. He asks his son to promise him he'll never let that "get a hold of him." His wife has two attitudes toward him when he is home. Either she acts lovingly to him, and does normal things, like bake for him, or she doesn't even look him in the eye, imagining that he is as good as dead, because she knows he'll leave again soon for 3 more months and possibly die. She says it hurts less when she does that. They worry constantly about that, and think that if he dies on Venus, they won't be able to look up at Venus in the night sky anymore, same goes for Mars rising in the East, or Jupiter. They'd be haunted forever by the night sky. On a night before the father leaves to go back into space, the son asks him how many ways there are to die in space. "Millions" he tells him. The son then asks how they bury you. "They don't" he tells his son. "They never find you." Then his father tells him that when he comes home this time, he's going to finally stay, and his son was very happy and excited about it. The son gets a message telling him his father has died, and before he can tell his mother, who was standing behind him on the porch, she says, "Don't tell me anything I already know." It turned out his ship flew into the sun, and he was killed. From that point on they can no longer look at, or be in the sun, or the light of day, or anything, because it hurts too much. They end up living nocturnally for the rest of their lives. It's a pretty sad story.
