I think this is my favourite Morrissey song. The lyrics feel so personal to me, but I'm sure that so many people can relate to them. It's pretty much the theme tune to my life. The music is really gloomy too. The clock at the beginning and at the end signifies the emptiness, and the waiting for time to pass by. It's terribly sad to listen to, but 'I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday' works so well after it on the album. At least there's a small light of hope afterwards. |
