Davey is a vegan. He is trying to see things from the view of an animal... The Song is a plea from the animals in the factory farm or slaughter house... "I came here by day and left in darkness" The animal comes to the slaughterhouse alive and leaves dead... "Silver and Cold" could be describing the merciless metal blade of the butcher's knife. "Your sins into me" when the farmers raises his knife and is about to strike the helpless animal "As a rapturous voice escapes, I will tremble a prayer" It screams for mercy. "Beautiful One" is plain sarcasm. In the bridge... "Cold in Life Throws" refers to unfair, selfish human needs.... "I'll fall asleep for you" that's a pretty way of saying "I'll die for you". And the animal asks the person killing it to turn away in shame. I may be wrong. But This is what music is all about. It is sharing. The Singer writes for himself.But others take it, digest it and relate to it in any way they want. But I shall stick with my interpretation. Since I'm a Vegetarian and I tottally saw the song thru the eyes of a farm animal.... Go watch the video "Meat Your Meat" on www.peta.com .
