although it is not very likely (according to nicky wire enola/alone is a melancholic song inspired by looking at a picture taken at his wedding of several people of whom two - richey edwards and philip hall - were not in his life anymore), mirroring 'alone' to 'enola' may partly have been inspired by the fact that THE PLANE THAT DROPPED THE ATOMIC BOMB ON HIROSHIMA WAS CALLED 'ENOLA GAY'. At 2:45 a.m. on Monday, August 6, 1945, a B-29 bomber, the 'Enola Gay', took off from Tinian, a North Pacific island in the Marianas, 1,500 miles south of Japan. The twelve-man crew were on board to make sure this secret mission went smoothly. Colonel Paul Tibbets, the pilot, nicknamed the B-29 'Enola Gay' after his mother. Just before take-off, the plane's nickname was painted on its side. |

The idea of A Design For Life is based on "designed for living", commercial slogan of american car company Ford, and on ''an ideal for living', title of Joy Division's 1978 ep. It is also the title of a biography of Joy Division, by Mark Johnson, called 'An Ideal For Living: A History Of Joy Division'. |

No, sorry, but I know there are a few unreliable resources on the net. I believe that it was proven wrong, but there are still people who believe it is true.
Just use a search engine to find it. I am sure you'll find some stuff to read up on as well as a heap of other interesting theories. |

| Manic Street Preachers – Another Invented Disease Lyrics

The song is actually about the conspiracy theory that was circulating in the early ninties in regards to the AIDS virus supposedly being manufactured in a New York laboratory as a means of culling homosexuals and other inadequacies in our society.
Hence, AID being an acronym for Another Invented Disease. |

The DVD just contains every video released mainstream, because although it didn't make it to the CD Foreve Delayed, it was released as a single.
"It's about something beautiful in a decaying place" is totally correct. But yes, it's about isolation and deals with the ideals of self-harm and people offering faux-sympathy and care. |

| Manic Street Preachers – Motorcycle Emptiness Lyrics

"Under neon loneliness, Motorcycle Emptiness" was actually taken from a poem by Nicky's Wire's brother, Patrick Jones entitled, "Neon Loneliness", but please correct me if I am wrong. The rest of the lyrics have been settled. It's about consumerism and people's blindness to the live they're being oppressed to. |
