There are better bands, but I think this song is good. It describes so perfectly the melting of two hearts..two people's feelings..when everything else in his life feels empty, she engenders a fullness that completes him. She is everything, she creates that "bubble" that you feel when you're in love, when the rest of the world seems to disappear. but "tears of unseen light".."tears of unseen hope" and the other lyrics make it seem like she won't let him get as close to her as he wants, or something is coming between them. whatever! :) good song...obvious meaning... |

ahaha Shastasheen...umm, sorry about your experience...? anyway- I don't think the girl in the song is a slut necessarily..I think she wants to be with this guy and have a "meaningful relationship" but she thinks the only way to get him to stay with her is by sleeping with him. Maybe she is really attracted to him, and thinks that he expects sex from her anyway, so she just does it to get it out of the way. And maybe she doesn't realize that he actually doesn't want to have meaningless sex..he wants to wait instead of rushing things and potentially ruining the future. but yeah..whatever. awesome song. |

ahhhh this is such a pretty song..I'm still trying to figure out why no one listens to them! where are the commenters?!! :) I like the "take what you want because" ..it's powerful. :) i like this song..it reminds me of me...the careful one..no one else cares enough. hehe |

The lyrics...sort of obvious..relationships and all that bla bla..but why does he say "even if she wanted me to, I WOULDN'T be there in a hurry" ...and then later "remember me, I'm the one standing to the right of you whispering in your ear, 'I'm gonna be with you forever'..." .....it's kind of contradictory. does he want this girl or not? | |

this song is freakin beautiful... It applies to me perfectly, nothing feels real anymore and nothing has since my first "love"..(and i'm sure you all care so much). haha. I really like this song...... the best part, even though it's hard to hear: you are new and near now to someone you used to love when you were young; when all was gold and you two touched and felt the flutter underneath your skin. you stood in glowing rooms, the light dripping from both of you. and nothing since has felt as radiant or real. |

I just heard Bright Eyes for the first time- and I honestly do not like any of his other music, espcially after hearing some weird creepy interview with connor, but THIS song is amazing... I love it. It's beautiful and deep... and I think it's the piano that got me. Someone said that it's not human, it's animal-like... that's what I like about it. Most songs are about all the sappy, brokenhearted aching of breaking up. Being human involves so many of those uncontrollable emotions that dominate your life, and falling in love with someone is something you cannot control..It leaves your heart open and vulnerable, just waiting to get shattered, which happens often. A lot of people reach a stage in their life when they’ve just had it with the love bullshit, they are emotionally worn out from having their heart endlessly stomped on.. drugs are an always available outlet… allows them to escape..numb the pain… It’s essentially disembodiment- no emotional/mental ties, purely corporeal…they satisfy each others’ physical hunger and that’s it. The lyrics remind me of a hot love scene in a movie like Great Expectations where the chick is a coldhearted bitch and just uses the guy, because of her own inability to feel pain & to care. It’s all twisted though, because in the end you always realize that it’s fake..you need real love, even if it involves pain, it allows you to feel something- anything- other than emptiness, numbness & depression. This song is beauuutifullllll but sorry..I don’t like his other music. haha I don't understand why people like Roland Ripley even post if you don't like the song. Don't you have something better to do? He might be whiny and everything, but seriously...no one here cares about your negative opinion. p.s. ..you spelled "incourage" wrong, it's with an E..but i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say it was a typo. go somewhere. |

This song is great...but it's hard to confuse the meaning.. it's fairly obvious. The lyrics are wonderfully written & beautiful as always...it's a very refreshing song.. I listened to it nonstop this summer.. and yes..even though that's not what this site is about... I agree with some of you who are irritated with all these random people listening to dashboard now. I don't know why it upsets me...maybe because one of my guy friends gave me a dashboard cd back when they first came out, and I've been obsessed with them ever since ..(all chris carraba's work actually, including FSF)...and the songs are all so meaningful .. it's like I don't want all these random people who don't even listen to this kind of music usually "intruding" or something. hehe Oh well, what can ya do.. |
