I want to make a few minor corrections here. At least I think they're correct. "You said that I was an asshole and I paid the price" is "You said that I was an asshole and I'd pay the price" makes more sense like that anyway, I think "...it should be bronze by now" is "...it should be bronzed by now". you know, like when you bronze a phrase it's like putting it in a plaque or something. I barely have an idea of what he says after the "Uh-oh's" but to me it sounds like "It looks like everything wants everything to go wrong" even though that makes no sense. And also, I don't think he says "the topic" at the very end it just sounds like he says "You don't even know-oh" this is all from the Building Nothing Out Of Something version |

thegnu's definitely got the lyrics figured out except for a few things. He might be completely right but this is what i hear "I went down like a rag doll rat of a child" is "I went down like a burned out rat of a child" and "I could open my hall" is "I could open my heart" and on the 1st "I went down like a rag doll / Heavy with child" it sounds like he says something different then "Heavy with child" but I don't know what about the meaning of the song I'm not sure but i think King Rat represents God or some other high authority figure and how fucked up our system is. |

I believe that everyone, no matter how stupid or how much of an asshole people might think of them, can relate to those 4 lines. That shows how much of a fucking genius Isaac Brock is; to have that ability to word thoughts and emotions that every human being goes through in simple, metaphoric songwriting is a true gift. And it's not just the first 4 lines of this song, the entire song is so meaningful, as is the rest of his songs.
