| Wilco – I Am Trying to Break Your Heart Lyrics

I like the "I'm the man that loves you" at the end. He says it in a tone that's really different from the way it's said in it's actual song, like she was the inspiration for that, but now that the relationship is over and he's looking back on it, he's being cynical and bitter instead of honest and carefree like before. |

i think its just about dealing with whatever you have to, how sometimes things are so good just breathing and simplicity are heavenly, sometimes you have nothing to look forward to but countless repeats, you realize it's never going to end, but eventually you just accept it anyway. learn to appreciate the little things and be able to rest easy despite whatevers going on. |

I was disappointed when this song started. The sound is fuzzy, desolate, and not interesting at all, and I thought the shins had taken a major step backwards and that this indicated how the rest of the album was going to turn out. And then it just got amazing. haha i think i said wow out loud. i'm really impressed with the new album now, this is a great song. |

| Jack Johnson – Symbol In My Driveway Lyrics

I honestly don't understand how you could get that little out of this song. For one, NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE BLAMED ON GEORGE BUSH. The song was written before he was even president, and even if it was, what does a "phosphorescent secret" have to do with him? Do any of you even know what phosphorescent means? It's something that burns without any fire, that lets off this glow. He's personifying the secret he's talking about to make it something important and meaningful and misunderstood. NOT A WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
Apparently I was wrong to assume that people understood this song was meant to be sarcastic. It's a satire on the world, about how we're going nowhere and people are too caught up it all to realize what they're doing. "jack is talking about mr. george dubya bush..."symbol in my drive way"..." okay no. The song is supposed to serve the same purpose that a symbol in a driveway would, to get a blatant message out in the open for people to notice. I'm sorry you're too preoccupied with attempting to find references to pot and george w. bush to recognize that. |
