I love this song, its my fave along with el capitan, but the whole album is really good. This song to me gives the impression thats the person who is hearing voices is very lost in themselves, dont know what they want of life, what they need, the voices are ones of which he new and people he didnt who are trying to help this person through. "I'm suddenly an empty house" This makes me think that the person has become an empty home to feelings they dont have, but its fillied with hope that one day they will have a sence of belonging. Roddy's voice....yum......so well suited to the song. |

to me this song is between two people, one person in the relationship keeps saying "love steals us from loneliness" but i think the other person is unhappy in the relationship but hes having hope that it will carry on and get better. Mean while hes lonely and kidding himslef into something which can never be replaced..... in the end no matter how in love you are with some one loneliness will always be around you. |

"It's what you thought you are It's what you thought you could be If you tried much harder " For me the song is summed up in the last couple of lines, i think it is on about some one who isnt very confident, their life has been held back by something, all the things they dont know, and they only see the world for these things. At the end it shows how the person thinks they could be and their compairing themselves to this, and only if they tryed harder then they may become what they want to be! |

"So I live in a hiding place Itfs the only way I feel safe When Ifm safe in a hiding place" Then here i think he is trying to escape the feelings he has and stays in one place where he feels safe "hiding place" when hes here he can think about things more but escape the world outside. |

I think this song is lovely, the song has been wrote in a way which leaves you wanting more. i think this song is talking about when your looking for ways to explain how your feeling, the answers you need, but there always changing and holding you back. Also i think it shows how people turn a blind eye to the world which surrounds them, shut out the feelings and the people they love, "Call it confusion in the best way possible" i think they have used this line because in the end your life is just left in confussion of how you feel. I love the poem at the end i think it shows how were looking to far into the distance and not paying enough attention to whats happening around us. |
