I thought this song was about one of those people who decide that their life sucks, and that they have "a laundry list of problems" but by never getting help they show how tough of a character they have. They try to be a martyr, all they do is get hurt. I think it's similar to 'I'm not okay' by My Chemical Romance, about having quiet problems in your life that no one ever knows.....
