Great song and I agree with all of you the self titled Marcy Playground is amazing. I am never sick of it. Opium is a very calm and soothing song-very probably drug induced. That point of feeling wonderful but yet everything is soft and quiet. Very underrated band. Once I get people to listen to it for more than Sex & Candy they are addicted. Very talented! |

great song...i def see the drug ie. coke ref. here not so much the eating disorder. meth lasts a lot longer so you dont have to do it as often. i really like the line" might die from medication but we sure killed all the pain." the shit you do that could kill you but offered some sort of relief or escape for that period..you can empathize |

i was addicted to this song the first time i heard it. like most people have written just the "and i'm lonesome when you're around. i'm never lonesome when i'm bymyself. and i miss you when you're around."
just that feeling of taking pleasure in time alone, not needing anyone's company, being totally satisfied with solitude. "I miss you when you're around" to me just reminds me of different situations when you're with a significant other and just wondering what the hell is going on..some walls that are put up intentionally or unintentionally... |
