Wow. I mean wow. Being Madonna's lyricst would be such a difficult job, I mean she obviously only performs the best of the best. I would like to submit a song to her. It's called 'dance all night long'. Basically it is about dancing all night long but like heaps deeper and stuff, do you know what i mean? She looks so amazing in the film clip, the way she humps the boom box, and tries to do a fast dance like a young person would. Good on ya Madonna. I was sickened to discover this song was about his first homosexual encounter. I mean the modesty of the man impressed me, i imagined in my own naive mind that this bloke was working at a supermarket store and dreamed of one day rising throught the ranks. But no! This song (and band) stands out as absolute gold in a genre plagued with other poser metal boy bands. The guitar work is rife with confidence. The lead has an awesome voice doing justice to the old school metal they admire. As for the meaning of this song... its hard to say, uses alot of vague imagery and words construed in a way that sound good. Its a song that has meaning attributed to it by the listener. Certain lines stand out with a huge punch when combined with such 'original melody' (someone elses clever observation). I really hope this band lasts longer than the trendy genre's and styles attributed to them. |

In an interview with Morrissey he alluded to the fact that this song is about drug use and experimentation. The 'girlfriend' has overdosed and the boyfriend has yet to fully understand the seriousness of the situation (as this possibly happened before). He needs to be told that its serious because he keeps saying stupid things like ' there were times when i could have murder her'.. its really not the right time to say things like that!
