I remember playing Sgt. Pepper's for the first time and when the reprise went into "A Day In The Life"....that spooky, wonderful feeling of that song just made the album even better. A masterpiece of an ending to a unique album. |

I think this is one of those great songs that McCartney has taken credit for, but Lennon wrote and sang, in response to Lennon's taking the bulk of the credit for "Eleanor Rigby" and "Fool On The Hill". Can't blame him, but I distinctly remember George Martin saying that he remembers Lennon coming to him with the song and watching him complete it. |
