| The Mile After – The Only One Lyrics

i remember the times
when my shoulder held your head
and i would wonder
how did they find
such a perfect fit
sweetest ever lines in the song. weirdly enough, the "when you're the only one" part reminds me a lot of the 'truly madly deeply' song by savage garden. hmm. still, great song. |

the first ever rocket summer song i heard, and it totally hooked me.
i was actually listening to this on a rainy wet day (in the middle of june... typical brit weather *sigh*), and i was absolutely convinced it was blue skies outside. so i looked out and what dya know, it was pissing it down.... that was the effect it had on me. lovin it! |

the simplicity of the lyrics in this song blows me away. he doesn't need to use big words to get across how he feels. the words are so cute :D pure class! |

| The Rocket Summer – Never Knew Lyrics

"awesome song
awesome CD
awesome musician.
nuff said."
word yo! haha
i reckon this song is about being stereotypical and/or prejudice - "But no, none of it's true cuz I never knew you". like maybe he judged someone he kinda half-knew, until he actually got to properly know them and he realised they weren't the person he thought they'd be (in a good way). it sounds like he's now looking up to them ("And now the truth of it is, is I wanna be like you") for being an individual of some sort and taking all the crap they get for being different.
"Because you tore down the walls that the world that has put inside my head" seems like that person made him more open-minded and that it's the worlds fault for creating narrow-mindedness within people (which i agree with...)
this line "And I just get of sick of things that we think, we think we know" seems to be aimed at people who think they know everything but really they know fuck all.
i could say so much more about this song but it's pretty long already, so i'll stop :) i'll just say this instead: these are lyrics that speak true of life. |

what a great song! expect good success from this band.
i think this song is about a relationship gone wrong (as they all are... haha), but she doesn't care. she's reflecting back on the times they argued, and now that he's going she's saying she's not that bothered:
"Can't say I'm sad to see you go
Cause I'm not" |

yea i agree with most of what you guys said, it seems to be about being away from important friends/families and missing them.
"and my hands are tied to pages inked to bring you back" imply that they're keeping their loved ones in mind wherever they are by writing them... aww :)
"tonight the headphones will deliver you the words that i can't say" could mean their songs speak for them when the people the guys are close to listen to it, and they can't be there themselves to say it...
wow FOB just rock! |

yea this song is pretty grand. like waitingforsunday says, it's all about having the best time with your friends wherever you're going and whatever you're doing. i love the bit where a bunch of them are singing the chorus coz it gives you the feel of "togetherness" and how close the guys are. i can just imagine them all with their arms around eachother with beers in their hands and swaying and singing along lol. |
