| Gatsbys American Dream – Speaker For The Dead Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| GAD definitely likes using literary allusion. The title of this song is from a novel with the same title, authored by Orson Scott Card. It's a frickin' awesome book, and it's really cool how this song uses the idea developed in the book of a speaker for the dead. | |

All the contrasts in this song are amazing. It's saying that when things are so bad that your reason says it can't be done, putting your faith in God will get you through it. |

| Mae – Someone Else's Arms Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think it's about someone who wants to fall in love, basically. He's gone after a crush, or several, only to find that it was meaningless. He longs for real love, not a cheap imitation. | |

Another lyrics correction... "Pass it up put it down, Oh what a wild ride..." should read, "Pass it up, wouldn't dare, What a wild ride..." As in I wouldn't dare pass this experience up, instead of lines that don't make sense. This song describes love perfectly, whether God's love or being in love with a person. |

| Mae – Mistakes We Knew We Were Making Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I agree that it's about an unplanned pregnancy, but I don't think there's anything in the song that implies they're gonna have an abortion. If anything, the reason they're going to the hospital is to deliver the baby. "Driving in the rain to the hospital Quiet aches intense" Makes me think of labor pains. Anyhow, I really like this song and this band. Even though they screwed up, the sound has a faintly optimistic sound... |

| Our Lady Peace – Not Afraid (Alternate) Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I got this song from someone who said it was from their new CD. ITunes says it's from the album "Standing in the Gap," though I haven't found anything about that either. At any rate, these are the lyrics as I heard them, and I'm not so sure about the second-last line. |

| Audioslave – Be Yourself Lyrics | 20 years ago |

The third verse lyrics posted here don't make much sense. Here they are as I found them posted on audioslaved.com, their fansite. Even when you’ve paid enough Been put upon or been held up With every single memory of the good or bad, faces of luck Don’t lose any sleep tonight I’m sure everything will end up alright You may win or lose Also, the last line of the second verse should be "Healthy or insane." |
