Soundgarden – Mind Riot Lyrics 20 years ago
I'm not entirely sure that this is the gist of it but at the minute, it consolidates the feeling I know people can get when they're faced with death and find it hard to escape the pessimism and futility you can get enveloped in when you concentrate on it too long.

Radiohead – Let Down Lyrics 21 years ago
personally, this song could be bring to me to tears every time I hear it. For me, it sums up Thomes isolation, the overriding sentiment in a lot of Radiohead material. The most potent line to my mind "you'll know where you are/you're at" basically captures an artists addictaion to seek an identification of himself/herself all by themself. He puts the rest of the world at a distance, lumps them all together, everyone, including me or anyone else who contributes to this page and trys to define himself outside of everybody. It's something that can never truthfully be achieved. This song uplifts me so much because it reminds me that I used to do the same. I think that kind of freedom comes when, as Henry Miller said, you "give up the ghost". Henry Miller is amazing and radiohead are unbelievible, this might well be my favourite song of all time.
