| Reminiscing on childhood and comparing it to the drudgery he feels now. | |

| I forgot to say: I also think that in the first verse when he talks about "You making pretty speeches", it seems spiteful that one can live on and be happy while he is about to lose everything. | |

I think it is literally about dying, and the experiences that you would have in the process. The song sounds backwards (and yes, I've tried it backward. It's different, but still doesn't sound right.), which to me would symbolize something not being right in someone's perception, like you get as if you fall out of consciousness. The beginning 'verse' of the song is probably voicing the one dying's thoughts as clearly as it musters. It pretty much states that even though he will die, others will still live and he won't disturb the balance by leaving. The second verse to me would be just the pure feeling of dying. I don't know why, but it seems like dying could be related to the sight of spinning plates. Not to mention that you can't really FEEL spinning plates to begin with. The cloud cuckoo and body floating down parts are kinda self explanatory if you look at it like me. |

| Modest Mouse – She Ionizes and Atomizes Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The song is about a guy who is apparently with a girl he doesn't feel love toward and is probably just using her for sex. Then he notices this girl (who ionizes and atomizes), falls in love with her blah blah and notices how empty his relationship is. Fluorescent lights are just a part of real light and that's what his relationship is, part of real love, etc. | |
