this song prolly means something different to me then what it means to most other people. to me this song is about getting over a first love and moving on to the next. its about trying to move on and finally being able too because you met someone who amazing and didnt even compare to the first. but at the same time being scared to move on because of how hurt you were in the past, yet telling yourself that no matter what happens you will be ok. this is my favorite lyric from this song, i think it says it all. "and all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me for all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me if i fall, if i fall down" i know that is prolly wayy off from what the song is supposed to mean, but that is just how i can relate it to what i am going thru right now. |

lets keep politics out of music, k thx. it ruins a lot of good bands. i cant listen to green day anymore without thinking about american idiot. or some of incubus' political songs. stick to what you know, please. anywayss when i first heard this song i never thought it had anything to do with bush or the war or anything. in fact i think it has to do with going through the different emotions of 'happiness and sadness', hense the first line. being in a relationship and going through the ups and downs but making it through. your 'getting away with murder' because you proved everyone wrong who said you cant make it, just like you would prove everyone wrong if you got away with the perfect murder. thats just what i personally get out of it and how it relates to me. |

ok back up there that christianlovingod fagg posted a comment on "how metallica sucks and we should listen to religious music and a bunch of other bullshit.." well bitch how "christian" is it to randomly go to a website and talk shit to get other people upset because they dont listen to your music or share your beliefs? if you dont like this music dont come here. i guess i consider myself somewhat christian but i dont go around preching to people who dont really give a shit. andd i listen to metallica and slipknot(haha) and other bands like that without thinking god will strike down on me. grow up.. btw..this song is amazing and i think its about exactly how it sounds, a little kid facing the fears of going to sleep at night, and how the prayer can be scary to a little child. |

this song makes me thing about my boyfriend. to me it means: (1st verse) the way im feeling right now is i love you and want to be with you forever. i know that "somehow" you feel the same way. in heaven everything is perfect just like the way it seems when we're together. and i dont ever want this feeling to end. (2nd verse) there are moments when the only thing that matters to me is being with you. but then reality hits me and i know we need a lot more then this initinal first feeling to make it through everything that is bound to happen in life. (chorus) i dont want anyone to see how i put so much thought into things and for the most part i keep things to myself but i am willing to ad want to open up to you (last verse) right now everything seems more then perfect but then things happen and it reminds me that not everything is as wonderful as it seems but its good enough for me to want to keep on living that is just my personal interpation of this song. idk if anyone agrees or not? |

amazing song. to me it means: at first you are afraid to fall in love but then it just happened and it was "the best idea i ever had" also the chorus literally means: "today i fell and felt better": i no longer live in the past "just knowing this matters":i i am happy to know that i have a relationship (or w/e is making you happy) that means something to me "i just feel stronger.. and sharper!":i feel better then i ever have in my entire live "i found a box of sharp objects, what a beautiful thing": i can finally "box up" the past and put it behind me and i am ready to move onto whatever comes my way |

wow. i cant believe no one comments on this band. i think they are just amazing, but i wish i knew more about them. anywhoo this is my fav song by them. i think the title is self explanitory, its about a young boy and girl in love. they used to pretend to be happy but ever since they met each other they are truely happy. idk..thats just what i think. |
