| So...my guess is that this melody is about a woman that suffered an accident...burned or something...and now...she has this scars on her face...and she's "afraid" to come out and face the world...and afraid of what the people around her might say...so...she only goes out at night and watches the stars and admires their beautifulness and it makes her cry and she keeps saying that she is ugly...But there is someone that loves her since before the accident...and even though she is some kind of freak now he knows what a wonderfull person she is and that "she is simply beautiful" inside...Anyway...I think this melody is deeper...I have some ideas that keep spinning in my head but I just don't know how to put them head to tail....I love the song...... | |

I don't know...i just have an oppinion...read it and tell me if it's a bull...it might be :)... "I didn't want to know I just didn't want to know" I think it's about someone that is addicted...his best friend (the speaker) knows about if but he just...doesn't want to know...officially... "Best to keep things in the shallow end Cause I never quite learned how to swim" I thought about someone crying ...and he's afraid about drowning in his own tears...he's sorry but he doesn't know what to do and he doesn't want his friend to feel stupid about it so he keeps it to himself(the sadness and regrets and tears...so he pretends he doesn't know about it) ... "Close my eyes just to look at you Taken by the seamless vision " close my eyes just to look at you = he can even stand looking him in the eyes...so he feels that he has to close his eyes in order to see him...a vision of that person...an alterated vision of the reality... "Call an optimist, she's turning blue" - she's sad...she's entering a state of melancholy... "While I just sit and stare at you" = he feels he's doing nothing to help and that there's nothing that he could do ...he feels useless... "Mistook their nods for an approval Just ignore the smoke and smile" - it's a metaphore for the fake reality...he thinks something but says something else and the smoke represents the bad things... "Call an optimist, she's turning blue Such a perfect color for your eyes" = because of the drugs...your eyes start losing their color...and they sometimes turn a very strange blue...like the blue mixed with a great amount of white *god i can't find my words :(( i'm a little tired so sry for the gram. mistakes* "Call an optimist, she's turning blue Such a lovely color for you" - he got used to it...to the idea...but he still doesn't want to know officially...so his best friend won't have to feel stupid about it...so he will go on pretending... | Oh...I think this one is about a parent and his child...it has this way of making u think u r safe...or anyway it doesn't sound hard...and it's like...there are passages...when the melody is calm...and calming...and then...bum!...it's like he is telling his child the truth about the world...and the bad things...and he's telling the child he will protect him from "the other ones...the evil ones.." but in an obsesive way..."stay with me...safe and ignorant" it's just like a parent that can't get used to the idea that he'll have to let go to his child in the future...so he makes him think that he (the child) is not safe without him(the parent) by his side...so...it's like a dogma imposed to a little child...it's just like "u have to believe it...don't ask why...is't just the way it has to be"(i thought of "a little child" because of the "boogyeman" stuff :P)...well it's just my oppinion :) | |

Uhm...when I first heard this song I almost fell of my chair...it's perfect...it has so many meanings...but the first one I thought is us beeing blamed for something we're not responsable...it's not like we killed God...why should we have this sin upon us since the day we're borned?well... I do understand the rage...it's some kind of rage ..."f**k your god..." it's like asking what kind of god are u if u blame us all because of some stupid losers...we're not all the same...we have different personalities...we wouldn't all do the same thing...right? and anyways...don't people change? why blame us now...for something that happened then...a long time ago when people were ...just...different...
