LOVE this song live...I've seen it twice, its pretty catchy. LOVE the whistle, love the mythology reference. When I saw them at a show I got to go to a press conference stephan was having. He was talking about music that had influenced him and he pointed out how much he had listened to hip hop and how he liked the idea of a beat being able to fit a lot into a short sentence. For all you true 3eb fans, stop and think about how many songs are like that. I think this particular song is kind of made to be catchy, they will prob release it as a single. To be honest I think its a little immature to be singing...it sounds like a senior year of hs song. But I still love it! And I can't wait for the new stuff...but perfect it first boys, no rush. Definitely see them live if you get the chance...they are awesome in concert and cool to meet! |

i think this song is about a relationship that was just destructive and one that he did not feel like himself in. where he says "sorry I didn't get to know you" it's like even though they spent a year together he didn't act like he usually does. he left his old friends and life and was in "exile" during the relationship. at first it was a high for him but it's old now. |

i love this song because the numbness of the background really conveys the feeling of numbness you get when something that was there isnt anymore but you're still thinking about it. something that i struggle with is hanging onto things that have happend. not just relationships but trips i've taken, getting older, people i don't see anymore. its hard when that depression sinks in and you can't connect and go back to the way things were. nothing can ever be the same with certain things. |

like every third eye blind song, the lyrics are brilliant and have a very unpredictable flow to them. it always suprises me how well they can convey feelings that most cannot express out loud. my favorite part of this song is And I fall down on what to say oh something clean, let me be clever Hey oh well, whatever But that's not what I mean Where we're been has left us burned still i wont turn now from a fight You know I'll never win i've been dating my boyfriend for over 2 years now and it is easy to get into a rut and forget why you're making such a commitment to the person. i like this line because it seems like young lovers have this blind drive to just give themselves to the other person, and not give up on them. even though they have no clue what they are doing or what to say |
