I just think this song is about a relationship (I'm picking my words very carefully, have you noticed? :P) between two people, either of either gender... and it's really sweet. I think it's kind of reassurring the other person that they are your number one (Don't worry - you got it) Awww I love it. Wish it belonged to me, lol |

The bit: "You can't get to heaven in a silver spoon" seems to me to be about how you say people are born with a silver spoon in their mouth ie. rich. And uh, basically, being rich means nothing/can't you into heaven. I don't think they're literally meaning heaven though. But then again, maybe they are...
Also, the "you can't get to heaven in your Sunday best when last night they were calling it your cocktail dress" means that (well, I think :P) you can't present yourself all good-ness when you're not :P and those two bits kind of sum up the song for me.

I think this song is about a relationship that was'never to be'. The 'sweetness' I think refers to the other person and they won't have anything to do with them: 'the sweetness will not be concerned with me'. I could go on, but I think you've got the gist :) |

I prefer to think this song is about being there for someone...and the title is kinda a joke, because it could mean being dependant on drugs too :P But, I'm going to live in my own litle dreamworld and pretend it IS about the first meaning, coz it's such a sweet song :) I like the bit where: "where there's the truth,

Ok, ok! I don't think people should be so keen to criticise Avril about covering a song. I mean, come on. She covered a song. She didn't release it as a single, she just sung it, perhaps because she LIKED the song? Did that occur to anyone, lol? If I was Green Day I would be honoured she wanted to sing it ^_^ And no, she HASN'T killed Basketcase, it's still just as great as it ever was, and her version isn't so bad anyhow.
