Actually, I think I was thinking of a different interpretation of the lyrics I had looked at re: the "genius out of Venus" line. I know I've seen lyrics that interpreted it that way. I've submitted an updated set of lyrics based on the lyrics included with the video. And honestly, although "genius" makes more sense, the lyrics DO sound like they say "genus and a Venus." Oh well. No one ever said it had to make sense. |

The lyrics on their official video (http://youtu.be/140ea47ndME) are the corrects one!
They do indeed say "was that in '84?" And the other part is "genius out of Venus," so FROM the planet Venus, meaning she's a woman, I guess (with the whole "men are from Mars, women are from Venus" cliche). |

This is probably my favorite song- or one of them. I've never been able to figure out what exactly my favorite song is, but this is way up there. |

For the first person who commented- the person who says "I've got blisters on my fingers!" at the end of the song is actually not John, it's Ringo. When I first heard it I thought it was John, too! |

I'm a huge Beatles fan but I personally hate this song. I don't know what it is about it but I'm never able to listen to it. I think it's overrated, but I guess that's just my opinion. |
